Brian Nordli

Brian Nordli is a freelance journalist based in the Chicago-area. He has worked for the Las Vegas Sun, Reno Gazette-Journal and Columbia Missourian. His work has also been published in Bloomberg News and The Oregonian.

Brian has experience covering breaking news, community news, education, high school athletics and ferreting out unique general interest stories. His story in the Columbia Missourian about the people involved in elk relocation from Kentucky to Missouri was a National Finalist for Enterprise Reporting for the Hearst Journalism Awards Program. He has also published stories ranging from a woman's battle with the government for disability insurance to the psychological toll of losing a daughter to sex trafficking to the purity of a childhood friendship and the support it can provide in sickness and in health.

Outside of journalism, Brian taught English to elementary school children in South Korea and lived abroad for over a year-and-a-half. In that time, he traveled to 12 countries in Asia and Europe, worked on a Hungarian farm and met people from around the globe.

Brian was born in the Chicago-area and resides there now.
